Graduate Student Consortium

The Graduate Student Consortium (GSC) is a one day forum in which graduate students can meet and discuss their work with each other and with a panel of experienced TEI researchers in an informal and interactive setting. The GSC will be held on Sunday January 23rd, 2011, the day preceding the main conference. Students give short presentations about their work during the consortium, and also present their work as posters during the main conference. There will be a pre-GSC dinner on Saturday night preceding the event.
We welcome application from graduate students in terminal degree programs (i.e. doctoral programs in research fields, and master’s programs in the arts) in any of the disciplines and approaches that contribute to the TEI community.

Submission Guidelines

Each applicant should provide a short written paper (maximum two pages in ACM SIGCHI archival format) describing their ongoing work. For example, the paper may summarize the student’s thesis work or dissertation, or highlight one or more particular aspects. GSC short papers will be published in the TEI Proceedings and in the ACM Digital Library. Please note that GSC submissions are not anonymous.
Selection of GSC participants will be made by the GSC committee. We anticipate that (at least partial) financial support will be available for graduate students to attend the GSC and TEI.
