Student volunteers are an essential part of the TEI conference. They are the core strength of the conference, keeping it running smoothly and making sure that the attendees and speakers have a great experience. We seek proactive and enthusiastic SVs to help us with providing a smooth and successful conference experience.
As a student volunteer, you get a full conference pass, providing you access to the seminars, workshops, and all the social events! This will give you a chance to meet established members in the community and build a long-lasting network with your international group of peers. Being an SV is a great and fun experience and provides valuable insights on how conferences are run for your future career. You will also get to enjoy a dedicated SV ‘Thank You’ party at the end of the conference!
The TEI 2024 is planned to be held in an on-site format. We’re looking for people eager to assist us in shaping the conference experience. Your tasks as an SV would involve helping attendees and assisting speakers on-site, facilitating organisers, providing information, and generally being a point of contact for all conference attendees.
This year, the SV call is aimed at those students who are willing to visit Cork, Ireland between the dates of February 10th – 14th, 2024. Acting as an SV, you agree to several responsibilities:
-
- You will be asked to work up to 20 hours over the course of the conference
-
- You will be asked to attend the SV orientation before the start of the conference on February 10th
-
- You will be asked to be present for the entire duration of the conference, February 11th – 14th, 2024.
This opportunity is open primarily to PhD students, but M.A./M.Sc. students may also apply. Students must be working or studying in areas related to TEI. While previous experience is a plus, it is not a requirement – all necessary instructions and training will be provided.
All applicants must send an email with some attachments to the SV chairs on or before Friday, October 27th 2023. Descriptions for these attachments are below:
