Call for Student Volunteers

Who are Student Volunteers (SVs)?

Student Volunteers (SVs) are at the core of TEI. Because TEI is a hands-on, demo-rich conference, SVs play an essential role in helping everything run smoothly and creating the welcoming, collaborative atmosphere the community is known for.

As an SV, your tasks may include assisting attendees and speakers, supporting sessions and keynotes (both onsite and online), helping organizers, providing information, and serving as a general point of contact for anyone at the conference. Tasks may start early or end late.

Acting as an SV, you agree to the following responsibilities:

  • Work for about 20 hours over the course of the conference
  • Show up on time for tasks
  • Attend an orientation session on March 7 afternoon (the day before the start of the conference)

In return, we will:

  • Waive your registration fee
  • Give a free SV t-shirt to be collected on site
  • Offer networking opportunities with other students and researchers

How Do I Become an SV?

You must be a current student to join the SV program. Prior experience is a plus, but not necessary. Undergraduate, Master's, and Ph.D. students are all welcome.
